Clark Burt is a special education teacher at Ashwood School in Ashwood, Victoria and is also a PhD candidate at the University of Melbourne Graduate School of Education. Clark’s research area is in games-based learning and using game elements to motivate and engage a diverse range of students. His PhD project is specifically looking at narration and storytelling in games and how the story of a game can be used to create a context for literacy learning in the special education classroom.
Originally a computer programmer, Clark has been teaching in Secondary, Tertiary, and now Special schools since 2004. He is also a committee member of the Australian Association for Special Education (AASE) Victoria Chapter and the website programmer for Integration Aides Australia Connect (IAAConnect.com), a website designed to help education support staff share tips and best practices and provide support and mentorship for integration aides.
